The Golfing Machine

The Golfing Machine, a golf book written by Homer Kelley, is “the golf nut’s catalogue, the circuit player’s handbook and the instructor’s textbook”. It is a textbook which “can support individual MY WAY procedures but no THE WAY theory. There is no effort to classify as best or worst, except on the basis of mechanical advantage”.
At first glance the book may seem rather technical and complex but as Homer says it soon becomes “very helpful and comfortable. After all, complexity is far more acceptable and workable than mystery is.”
The Golfing Machine seeks “continuous progress towards a practical goal - mastery of the Star System Triad”. This is the three imperatives (flat left wrist, clubhead lag pressure point, straight plane line) applying the three functions (control the clubface, the clubhead and the clubshaft) through the three stations (address, top and finish).

Stack & Tilt®

This is a system of instruction designed to give every golfer a systematic approach towards improvement. It is a system of explaining and organising the game. A means to effectively measure every swing in order to determine its strengths and weaknesses. Not every golfer needs, or even wants to know, every little detail relating to how the swing functions and is classified. It is important, however, to recognise the pieces that apply to your golf game so that you may strive to improve and know that you are always headed in the right direction. It is all about developing a reliable feel to project the ball in a predictable way. Stack & tilt® is simple enough to help the beginning golfer and increases in sophistication to help even the best players.
